Ask anyone in construction and they'll tell you that when accidents happen, everything else grinds to a halt. That's why safety is our first priority and why we make sure our employee's have the training to do the job right and do it safely.

In addition to providing all employees with information and training in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association guidelines, we have our own safety department that oversees our loss management program. Our safety record which is consistently better than industry standards, tells us our program is working.

Our employees are trained to think on their feet so that situations can be assessed, addressed and adjusted as they occur on site - not back at the office. Of course when management needs to be involved, our managers are accessible and available to both our clients and our employees.

Where Community Comes First

As a locally owned and operated company, we work to deliver the best possible end project to our clients while ensuring the safety of our people and our community. All of our key managers are locally based, as are virtually all of our employees, meaning we live where we work.

We understand how projects impact the larger community and are sensitive to using  local suppliers and resources whenever possible. Our contacts, connections and experience with the local approval process ensure our client's projects proceed seamlessly.

Our commitment to the community extends beyond our professional operations. Each year CBS contributes time and resources to Keyano College and the Northern Lights Regional Hospital, as well as to a myriad of local sports teams and community and charitable organizations. On a personal level, our employees are actively involved with a variety of local sports teams and charities. It's our way of reinvesting in the place we call home.

Looking Ahead

Over the course of the past three decades, CBS Construction has evolved to become one of the regions' largest general contracting companies. We've accomplished a lot in that time, building partnerships with our clients, creating a family of long term employees and amassing a portfolio of high profile projects.
